The ‘Works with openHAB’ initiative is a openHAB’s community effort to increase project visibility within Internet and marketing landscape. Over course of years openHAB have grown from a small project made by small group of enthusiasts, to a complete platform which can serve not only households. At the same time, both community and we, as a company, can’t deny that technology landscape is changing.
Similar to commercial vendors, openHAB community also wish to promote equipment which is compatible with own technology. The program aims to reach out vendors of equipment and services known to work with project in order to exchange links and marketing information. Most of openHAB addons (extensions) is provisioned through mix of community effort and people with programming experience who keep working on integrations. From that point of work might be done prior reaching to the hardware/service supplier.
ConnectorIO entered into initiative as a first commercial entity. We are proud that our services and development efforts which we drive can help open source community. The extensions which we publish since 2020 creates connection between openHAB project and variety of commercial and industrial standards, otherwise not supported. Starting from 2022 all our integrations are also tested to install within offline deployments for all openHAB releases starting from 2020. We clearly denote that our firm remain unaffiliated with standardization bodies or specific brands. At the same time, as an independent software supplier, we keep pushing technology development towards cross-platform and cross vendor connectivity.
Recently published documentation of connectorio-addons describe all available integrations and their configuration options. These can be installed in openHAB runtime by anyone at no cost. If you don’t know openHAB project yet, do not hesitate to visit openhab.org.
